2010 - 2012: The Beginning of a Vision

YACAfrica was founded in 2010 with the vision of empowering African communities through education, leadership, and youth development. Initially operating as a small grassroots initiative, our early focus was on advocacy, skill-building workshops, and mentorship programs for young people in marginalized communities

Events

2010 – YACAfrica was officially established, bringing together passionate youth leaders committed to social change.

2011 – Launched our first Youth Empowerment Program (YEP), training 50 young leaders in leadership, entrepreneurship, and digital skills.

2012 – Expanded our reach to rural communities, introducing Community Development Workshops that impacted over 300 individuals.

2013 - 2015: Growth & Expansion

2018 – Developed the Sustainable Entrepreneurship Initiative (SEI), training over 1,000 young entrepreneurs in business development and financial literacy.

2019 - 2021: Overcoming Challenges & Resilience
This period was marked by global challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, but YACAfrica adapted by embracing digital transformation and remote learning.

2019 – Launched the YACA Mentorship Hub, an online platform connecting young professionals with mentors in various industries.

2020 – Shifted programs online due to COVID-19, introducing Virtual Training & Digital Skills Bootcamps, reaching over 3,000 participants remotely.

2021 – Received the Community Impact Award for innovative solutions in youth empowerment during the pandemic.

2022 - Present: Scaling for the Future
Today, YACAfrica stands as a regional leader in youth empowerment, policy advocacy, and community development. We continue to expand, innovate, and advocate for sustainable change.

2022 – Launched the YACA Innovation Fund, providing grants to youth-led startups in technology and sustainability.

2023 – Expanded operations beyond Kenya, collaborating with organizations in Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda to scale our impact.

2024 – Introduced the YACA Leadership Academy, a training center dedicated to nurturing the next generation of African leaders.

Future Vision – By 2030, YACA Africa aims to reach over 1 million young Africans, equipping them with skills, opportunities, and resources to drive sustainable development.
